Bird Watching Trails In Jim Corbett at Aahana “The Corbett Wilderness”
Bird watching, one of the most fascinating hobbies which has gained more momentum over the recent past years. Bird Watching is also considered and in fact has become a great source of recreation. Being an avid traveler if bird watching hobby finds a place in your list.
Then Jim Corbett National Park, Aahana Resort “The Corbett Wilderness” can be best destination for you to engage yourself into this hobby which is now fondly practiced across the globe.
Aahana offers the following Bird Watching Trails to the Guests.
1. Haati Dangar
Distance From Resort: 12 Kms
We have roosting site for the Vultures, Storks, Eagles, Kingfishers, Sandpipers, species of Lapwings, Martins, sometimes some mammals like Wild Boars, Spotted Deer, even Tigers and Leopards etc.
Time of Departure and Duration : 6.30 am and return by 12.00 Noon.
Packed Breakfast (As per your Meal Plan), accompanied by a Naturalist/Guide (Pls. note that Naturalist will not carry any belongings of the guest they have to carry themselves their packed breakfast and their belongings). Guests will use their own vehicles to reach the destination.
Same Bird Watching can be done in the afternoon from 3.00pm to 6.00 pm.
2. Kosi Barrage and Sitabani
This will go up to Bhandarpani which is about 27 kms from out Resort.
Species of Birds That Can be seen: Red Starts, Lesser and Greater Cormorants, Ruddy Shell duck, Herons, Eagles, Kingfishers etc.
Time of Departure and duration : 6.30 am to 11.30 am and in the afternoon from 3.00 pm to 6.30 pm.
3. Kyari to Powalgarh
Distance from resort: About 30 kms
Species of Birds That Can be seen: Barbets Nut hatchs, Owlets, Woodpeckers, Vultures, Lapwings, Hornbills, Babblers, Bulbuls etc.
4. Garjiya Temple – along with Kosi River
Distance from resort: 21 Kms
Species of Birds That Can be seen: Cormorant, Redstart, Wall creepers, Herons, Water hens, Kingfishers etc.
5. Mohaan to Kumariya
Distance from resort: 28 Plus 15 kms
Species of Birds That Can be seen: Thrushes, Brown dippers, Owls, Fantails, Flycatchers, Paradise Flycatchers, Eagles etc.
6. Bhakrakot to Marchula
Distance from Resort: It is about 47 kms. The Bird Watching is done along the Treks with Ramganga River.
Species of Birds That Can be seen: Fish Eagles, Redstart. Hornbills, Nuthatchs, Tree Creepers, Bulbiuls, Magpies, Great Hornbills, Birds of Prey, Long Billed Thrushes, Tesia etc.
Note: Aahana Resort arrange guided bird watching activity by a naturalist. we also arrange guided nature walk & jungle safari by naturalists.
